Scholarship shows us that fostering a sense of belonging and collaboration in our online classes is essential for student success. However, creating meaningful connections in asynchronous classes poses unique challenges. How can we cultivate camaraderie when students are separated by screens and schedules?

Join Laura Soracco for a spring quarter dive into transforming our asynchronous online classes into vibrant communities!  Laura’s doctoral thesis focused on the sense of community in online classes and what that means for students, so let’s learn from Laura’s work.  Through crowdsourcing strategies, we’ll explore ways to infuse community-building elements into our online curriculum.  From collaborative projects to peer feedback mechanisms, we’ll look at ways to empower students to connect, support one another, and thrive.

You can register for the workshop and elect to earn a stipend by filling out this form.
