Please join the LTC for our “Writing a Teaching Philosophy Statement: Don’t Worry. There Isn’t an Abyss!” workshop on Monday, October 30th, from 2pm to 3pm.
Most teaching positions in academia require applicants to submit a teaching philosophy as part of their application materials. Let’s investigate the importance of teaching philosophies and get started on writing our own. At the end of the workshop, you will be able to:
- identify the key components of a teaching philosophy statement, and
- write the first paragraph of a teaching philosophy statement based on your personal goals and teaching strategies.
To prepare for the workshop, please make sure to complete this brainstorming work and bring it along with you.
The workshop will be offered both in-person (22-102) and on Zoom (Meeting ID: 828 3132 5096, Passcode: 305822).
