12/1/22 Faculty Advising Drop-ins
2022-23 will be a year filled with lots of learning related to faculty advising including use of a new advising tracking tool (Aviso) and an increased advising load, for some. Faculty advisors are invited to drop-in during open office hours to chat about useful resources and discuss challenges and concerns, with the Program Manager of Faculty Advising. Discussions will be used to facilitate process improvements for faculty advising, including professional development opportunities, creation of advising aids, and assistance with Aviso.
Learning outcomes:
- Identify knowledge gaps for academic advising services
- Discuss and identify challenges and concerns (and victories!) with Aviso
- Discuss opportunities for improving faculty advisor assignments
- Locate resources for use in faculty advising and student engagement
