AI Tools for Engagement

Join the TIDL team for a Watch Party to participate in and discuss this session, offered by SBCTC as part of their Faculty AI Learning Series, facilitated by instructional designer Yun Moh.

Specialty AI tools can be applied in education to increase student engagement, personalize learning, enhance content creation, and automate administrative tasks for educators. Tools like text-to-voice/video generators, infographic makers, and AI tutors offer specific functions that can transform the classroom experience for both teachers and students. Some of the benefits are:

  • Improved accessibility, e.g. text to speech
  • Engaging content, e.g., AI avatars translating into multiple languages
  • Music for lessons, e.g., helping students to memorize and understand complex concepts
  • Infographics, e.g., easy-to-follow visual aid

Take-Home: Presentation slides; Canvas course with resources and recordings; AI-ready pedagogical strategies

Workshop Supplies: Optional: sign up for SUNO, ElevenLabs, HeyGen, NapkinsAI, Pikchart, Canva, and Khanmigo accounts. Bring a text script for a welcome message.
