10/10/23 Beyond “Exploratory”: Helping Students Choose a Major (or Pathway)
Helping students identify a pathway that aligns with their interests, strengths and career goals is strongly linked to student retention, satisfaction, and persistence. To help students at Highline choose the pathway, degree and major that fits them, Wendy Swyt, Jen Heckler, and Cory Martin, offer ideas and resources, including an intro to the new tool Vita Navis (replaces Career Coach and WOIS) that is linked to our pathways and programs.

- Identify challenges facing students when choosing a major/pathway.
- Apply tools/resources for helping students choose a major/pathway.
- Explain the role of VitaNavis.
