Supporting Students Experiencing Academic Difficulties
The Academic Standards Policy (ASP) applies to students who have either a quarterly and/or cumulative GPA below 2.0 with the goal of ASP to provide support for students so they can establish a plan for achieving their educational goals. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and other challenges, ASP implementation was placed on hold. As of Spring quarter 2023, ASP is being phased in and as a faculty advisor, it is imperative you have knowledge of the policy and understand how to support students facing academic challenges.
Join Sarijana Clark, Academic Standards Policy Manager & Retention Coach, for an overview of Academic Standards Policy implementation, wrap around support, and how to incorporate ASP into your advising style. Lyall Rudenskjold, Director, Academic Success Centers, will also share the various academic support resources available for students and opportunities to partner with faculty, such as embedded tutoring in your classes.
