SUMMARY:Artificially Intelligent: Resisting AI in Modern Learning - Watch Party!
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n \nWhile ‘artificial intelligence’ (AI) has been around for some time in various forms\, recent developments around generative AI have caused a surge of public interest in its capabilities and many industries and fields have been enticed to leverage the various AI tools to offset workload and increase productivity. Education in particular has been hit hard with the inception of generative AI tools that seem to hinder the learning process rather than support it. This workshop will explore the impacts of AI on learning and provide sensible ways to address and resist its use in the classroom. \nFacilitator:\n\n\n\n\nKyle Pittman\, Native Pathways Program faculty at The Evergreen State College\, offered through the Washington Center for Improving Undergraduate Education \nModality:\n\n\n\n\nHybrid. In-person Watch Party in the Faculty Center (9-109) and on Zoom. Look up the link on this list of AI Symposium Zoom links (Highline login required) \nAbout the 2026 AI Symposium workshop series:\n2026 AI Symposium sessions take place throughout Spring Quarter. Click here to view other workshops in the series. \n\n\n\n\n
